Forest Legacy Investments

Overview

Forest Legacy Investments (FLI) manages conservation-oriented timber investments, primarily for funds. These funds purchase positive yielding timberland, harvest the timber in an environmentally sensitive manner, and, at the end of the fund term, permanently place the forestland into conservation. FLI investment programs are designed to provide attractive financial benefits while making a significant contribution to forest conservation.

Through this approach, Forest Legacy Investments intends to significantly increase the amount of forestland conserved every year. This approach is considered to be on the “leading edge” of forestland conservation and is already endorsed and practiced by respected conservation organizations.

Timberland, is an excellent portfolio diversifier, has strong risk-adjusted returns, is asset-based with biological growth characteristics, and is a trusted investment for some of the largest and most sophisticated investors in the U.S.

The FLI management team has collectively been involved in over $80M worth of debt and equity financing; retains a PhD in Forest Economics; involved in the management of more than 600,000 acres of timberland; managed $100M+ product lines and financed over 10 start-ups; and is aligned with large timber investment organizations, land trusts, and forest products organizations.
